OUR TEAM

Born and raised in Hopkinsville, Kentucky — Tangela graduated with both her Bachelors and Masters in Social Work at Western Kentucky University where she also became a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.

Founder: Tangela Babb, MSW, LCSW

Tangela (LCSW) has been a social worker for over 10 years. She enjoys giving back to the men and women who have served our country, and currently works at Nashville VA Medical Center as a Primary Care Social Worker. She gained her expertise through working with disadvantaged teens at the Boys and Girls Club, Community Action of Southern Kentucky, and the Department for Community Based Services (DCBS – Child and Adult Protective services). She has also worked as case manager for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Tangela takes pride in making a difference, and will continue to equip young women with all the tools for success in today’s world.

Mission Statement

The Lipstick After Dark Girls Mentoring program provides a safe space for girls and young women to be themselves in a world that constantly forces them to be be anything but that. We will empower them with the tools to navigate life’s trials, challenges, and triumphs as they transition from girls to women.

Vision Statement

Lipstick After Dark empowers girls and young women with the confidence to understand self-worth, overcome the obstacles and barriers encountered in their everyday lives. Our program taps into fears, thoughts, feelings and emotions that manifest when there is no supervision.
